Up ‘n’ Down

Up 'n' Down is a Racing / Driving game released by SEGA Enterprises Ltd. in 1987. It is an interesting DOS game and a must play for all old videogame lovers.

Up ‘n’ Down description

One of the first versions of arcade "combat" racing on the PC, which is a port of the game machines in 1983.

The point of the game is the following. The view from above and slightly to the isometric view, you control a car that must drive along a very winding and full of obstacles the road (more like a maze) and collect all the bonus flags. The car knows how to perfectly jump – some obstacles are overcome only way. In addition, it is possible to jump and sometimes encountered other cars – in this case, they explode and you get extra points. Also points can be earned by collecting "investigations into non-storyline" bonus – balloons and cups from under the ice; but it is necessary to think about time, because the faster you collect all the flags the higher the final score.

After some number of levels in the game will be more serious obstacles, the need for path selection at forks (one is always a dead end) and the machines that carry the desired flags, which because of this will necessarily blow up. Other machines do not jump on you, but can easily "bring down" the road, also you can do it with her driver to leave because of an obstacle; and then, and another leads to loss of one "life". Have the opportunity to play together on one computer.

From the point of view of graphics the game looks at least good, though perhaps a bit strange because of the "roughness" of the drawing (still performed at a high level). Due to comparative rarity and high dynamic gaming process is warmly recommended to all lovers of old arcade games.
