The $100,000 Pyramid description

Computer embodiment of the eponymous American TV quiz show, popular in the 1980-ies. In the original transfer competed several players seeking to win 100 thousand dollars; they have consistently held the rounds (just conventionally constituted in the title "pyramid"), each of which chose one of several categories with the words United by some characteristic, and then made each other these words, giving clues for them (usually in the form of synonyms or related concepts, but without naming the word itself). In this igroizatsii also has multiplayer on one computer (two or four participants), but the author of the description was familiarized exclusively with the regime of single player, the principle of which is in General similar, but the tips it gives artificial intelligence, and one piece to each of the questions.

In practice it looks approximately so. In a standard round (there are also bonus) proposed six categories of words ("red objects", "warm objects", "sharp objects" and so on; there are far more original titles); when you select and start one of them appear the words that we, through typing on the keyboard - needs to pick up or synonyms, or similar term; the number of recognized program of words is relatively large, and in specific situations, several alternatives can be considered to be true. Very often the correct answer is something more General than the source word (e.g. "country" to "Mexico" or "fish" to "shark"), but sometimes you need a synonym or even something more complicated. All the words in the selected category available for "scrolling", so if you can't find an analogue to any one, you can move on to the next, and then go back to causing trouble. Please note that the time for filing responses has been limited, and relatively hard (shows the limit in the form of a descending scale at the bottom of the screen). In case of victory in the round, we move on to the next - and so either to the top of the "pyramid" or until you lose.

Graphics, oddly enough, just at times better than most of the "digital adaptation" of the TV show, released in the late 1980-ies, in particular, there is even an animated figure of the presenter, albeit appearing not very often. Overall - quite a fascinating thing, which you can use to replenish your vocabulary in English.
