Quik the Thunder Rabbit description

Quik the Thunder Rabbit is one of a whole host of platformer from the Amiga, as you know, there they were able to do. The quality is the fact that the developers of the game were close to demosceners circles (so, the programmer of the original version for the Amiga was at that time known under the name Ziggy Stardust as the author of stunning 3D screens in megademo on the Atari ST). But versed in platformers the player in anticipation of something spectacular, most likely, first will be severely disappointed. And what we see in Quik'e? Very crude graphics with some proplachennymi enemies, besides not too well animated? Certainly, for 1994, it is in these games was enough. In addition, this year released a Jazz Jackrabbit, also with cartoon graphics, rapidly running rabbit, eating carrots. Perhaps that is why Quik went completely unnoticed for PC players.

And still, the game is not bad at all. After some time the graphics doesn't seem so tasteless - on the contrary, seen a single style that is a little crazy, but cute. Management also can be quickly used in the game you need to attack by pressing the spacebar just before contact with the enemy, then the Quik Bunny spun a ball and strike, otherwise hurt himself. Enemies are quite varied and interesting: someone puts a bomb, someone actually unkillable, others attack from a distance, others move by jumping... But most importantly - and a variety of levels: it appears to complete the level, you must first pass a special bonus level, the door of which still need to find. In this bonus level, you must move strictly upwards on the platforms, while dodging the pterodactyl and tries to sneak down the rabbit behind the ears or throw it on sharp rocks. But that's not all - the fourth level, for example, is generally a maze without enemies!

Also quite interesting innovation is the mandatory completion of carrots and water, which are necessary to beat the enemies. However, in the PC version of the problems with this virtually does not occur.

The music in the game is very similar to the music in Prehistorik 2 - as for the genre, and technical execution: as I understand it, quite seriously squeezed, so heard constant cod. However, a certain charm in that too.

A few words about the differences between versions for PC and Amiga CD32 (version under ECS Amiga, I have not earned). The game is very different. I advise you to play in both. The PC game is much faster, jumps farther rabbit, carrots and water practically does not end. On the other hand, on the Amiga CD32 - much better graphics (screen resolution, as you know, the AGA chipset is almost two times longer than the standard MCGA on the PC), more background bitplane with beautiful parallax scrolling (a few clouds moving at different speeds, and in the distance the mountains that scrolled even slower), much better quality music (besides, it is quite different!), new fantastic screensaver (animated, not the individual images), as it is easier to find doors to bonus levels - they show arrows. In addition, CD32 version has a time limit, and the pterodactyl does not cause damage to the rabbit, if just grabs him by the ears and drags it down.

To summarize, I can say that fans of platformers will likely like the game, it's not a masterpiece, but the game is very good and addictive. Thanks to its speed, variety of levels and some difficulties Quik The Thunder Rabbit is ideal to relax.
