QIX

QIX, a DOS game was released by the very talented group Taito America Corporation in 1989. Little did they know that they will end up making history. Play this game again here.

QIX description

The game is a Qix - one of the games pioneers, released in the early ' 80s, at a time when games did not take the technical execution and idea. The idea, as usual, to genius is simple - you need to cut pieces of the screen, while it creepy crawling "snake" of sticks and some sparks around the perimeter. The game was published in slot machines and some other platforms, but somehow among them was totally ignored by the PC (who knew then that her perspective!). The situation was corrected only in the 89-th year, when the game finally came out on the Amiga and on the PC. Unlike other earlier clones of the game here is finally at least some decoration (including a background screen) and acceptable music. Also in this version you can play together (albeit in a queue, so not considered).

It is interesting that when advertising the game developers emphasized the intellectual, in particular, for example, such a slogan: "QIX is to video games what Chess was to the Kings... a classic mind game". The statement, of course, is daring, but inventing tactics games, various tricks with which you can avoid death, this is probably one of the most interesting aspects of Qix, as well as in Xonix'E.
