Menace

In the year 1989, Psyclapse developed a Side view perspective game by the name Menace. You can now play it online here.

Menace description

Another arcade game with the dominance of process over plot, as it should be, however.

Six evil scientists with an unknown purpose, created a planet called Draconia and populated it with hundreds of the most hideous creatures of all species and genera. You pilot a small ship should destroy the planet (why???).

The first thing that catches the eye is the size of the enemies (they're much bigger than us) and their surrealism and obvious enthusiasm of the authors arthropods and molluscs. But this game only gets more fun – such creatures are rare. Especially pleasing to the gigantic bosses themselves often spawn smaller enemies to fight on such screens is not easy. New weapons and various bonuses (lasers, grenades, the armor of the ship, "life", etc.) are extracted from the killed enemies.

Graphically it looks maybe not very "cool", but the design of the enemies more than compensates for the possible (for someone picky opinion) the graphical shortcomings. Hard to break away.

Have you ever wondered what kind of video games were played in the good old days? Try playing Menace online now and we are sure you will not stop playing again.
