It Came from the Desert

A DOS game was developed by Cinemaware Corporation and then released by Cinemaware Corporation in 1990, the game was called It Came from the Desert. Now you can relive the memories by playing it online here.

It Came from the Desert description

The legendary cross-genre phenomenon from Cinemaware.

Near the town of Lizard Breath, a mysterious meteorite falls. Geologist Greg Bradley arrives in this backwater, in order to find and study it, but things take a mysterious turn. In the mines near the town begin to happen strange horrors: here and there find the melted acid victims is unknown, or decapitated cows, or the mysterious traces of unknown form and origin...

Dr. Bradley will find out what happened here - and in this he will help us. Although the game begins as a simple quest, built on timely answer, she quickly reveals its true nature, when revealed, was to blame... the ants are giants! (not a spoiler - just look at the cover!).

Bradley is free to do what he wants - flirting with girls from the local population (be prepared for the fact that local hooligans will beat you for that and make a highly interactive stabbing!), an argument with law enforcement officers about the need for evacuation, to personally walk on the wildlife creatures and be shot/thrown grenades/flamethrower otjihase to them as needed and promoting Arsenal of a curve...

Or to negotiate with the authorities and to organize armed resistance. To call the army. To steal a crop duster, pour in the pollinator system insecticide and water creatures from the air.

While the game is relentless: no matter what you do, it not just flows - it's flying! Lose a knife fight or get into an accident during a meeting with the road bullies (in no less an interactive mini-game "who will roll first from the road, he is lost") - get to the hospital. And there you will keep for weeks, if you fail to escape (also interactive). But meanwhile, the ants can devour the entire city to hell...

Insanely addictive and sometimes genuinely scary, It Came... the obvious manner inspired by the films category "B", and sixtieth years, - the whole style is evident. The nonlinearity of the plot, depending on your quickness and luck in regards to the meeting of those in power, leads to dissimilarity of just EVERY game in the previous. A lot of mini-games (you can count at your leisure... here woven together elements of Dune 1, Operation Wolf, classic quests, some Alien Breed, Street Rod, and even a SHMUP-s!) only podavlyaet of excitement in the process.

The plot thickens human conflicts the city has and the gang, and a small cult, and ordinary citizens begin to go crazy, when the creature will climb out... And then there's the host of a local radio station, where you can spin the novel; and fled from Hollywood in order to avoid scandal starlet is a lesbian, staying in our home; the student is local, that is strongly helping us, and who also have to save from threats...

Summary. Play to anyone who likes these movies. Anyone who never played games from Cinemaware, because the best representative. To everyone who played, because you know that it is worth it. And, Yes, all who do not believe that in the EGA-palette, you can draw a beautiful devushek on the background of desert and giant ants.
