Empire of the Angel is the first part of the series Empire of Angels (天使帝國), anime T-RPG and tactical turn-based strategy with bleeding men, pretty reminiscent of the series Shining Force, Langrisser (Warsong), Tactics Ogre and Fire Emblem. It was developed by the Taiwan team DOMO Team in traditional Chinese and published by the company SoftStarв 1993 on PC-AT under DOS platform. Also, the game was reprinted in 1994 in Korea in Hangul, and in 2013-m Chinese version was produced for the Apple iOS.
The plot of the game although quite simple, but original. Vast Empire, where lived some of the girls (!), was the head of the goddess Vesta (維絲塔). All the game figures designed in the style of anime, made by dithering in 16-color 640x350 graphics mode. For the sake of otaku-fan-service all the characters in the game there are exclusively female than she is strongly reminiscent of Power Dolls, released a year later, another Japanese Studio. In battle, every troop is very interesting are animated in a comical Chibi style, and every event of the battle is accurately reflected in the scene.
Music good melodies presented in a rhythmic and nostalgic-epic rock marches under typical anime symphonic motifs, made on the Adlib FM synthesis. The magician is the most weak in melee and very slow; in turn, can become either a battle mage - damage dealing spells more range or more power, or a priest, the one who spells of treatment, but it will be able to treat a group of units with a high radius of action, although after the pumping to the last type of priest, one receives a powerful combat spell; can also be a white mage-druid, but this is a dead-end branch, combining the average and the spell of the doctor and Battlemage. The choice of spells is not rich: it's either combat, dealing constant damage, ignoring the level of protection, or healing - distinguished only by the different radius of action, range of their use and power.
The shooter is a relatively efficient unit support: it is useful only to those that can shoot from a distance at the enemy immediately after the movement and not get retaliation, although almost useless in melee and completely loses its meaning before more pumped fighters in the later stages of the game, as his arrows always strike the same level of damage; also it is only one new type of transformation where he becomes a little more powerful and long-range shooter.
The Builder can build bridges or burn trees, thus creating on the ground the aisles, not limiting the movement of troops, but he was unavailable for further transformation. He also quite effective in melee, has a lot of health and power, but rather weak protection. The enemy's army have almost the same set of soldiers, except that differ in appearance and slightly - sets basic characteristics: for example, instead of riders on Pegasi - harpies.
After victory or defeat in battle, the story of our heroine, the leader of the troops will change. Even if we lose, the end game will not come, but the level will be different, so that the game can be called a very non-linear, with forks storyline. Between missions there will be many colorful narrative of scenes and dialogues full of emotional exchanges between characters. There is also present a copy protection, presented in the form of colouring pages, where you must specify the correct color of the original figure, apparently in the manual.
Recommend this thing is fans T-Rpg genre tactical role-playing games, although many will find the complexity quite simple but with interesting rich chips.
