Double Dragon III: The Rosetta Stone

Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. developed a Arcade game in the year 1991 called Double Dragon III: The Rosetta Stone. You can play it online now.

Double Dragon III: The Rosetta Stone description

The third and last part of the series Double Dragon on PC that does not already have the "spirit" of the preceding parts.

The plot, unlike the first two games, very strange brothers, returning from the championship in martial arts, learn from the fortune tellers about the terrible evil in Egypt, to stop which only they can, but before that you need to visit other countries (Italy, Japan). Not very clear, one word.

In this game has dramatically increased the role of bonuses – now there are entire stores where you can buy weapons and all sorts of "power-ups's", which can give our heroes elevated strength, endurance and speed. But the bonuses "just because", which lie on the road, have to forget – there can only collect money from the bodies of slain enemies, and then look for a place where you can something to buy. It is clear that it's more realistic, but here it is obviously not good. The combat system is the second part abolished, went back to simple single strokes first.

Graphics improved again, the characters and backgrounds are drawn very clearly and beautifully, and sometimes even appears to hint at three-dimensionality, but the special joy it brings. If you consider this game just as an independent work of the arcade genre, then you can estimate at least above average, but as a continuation of a great series – alas, another disappointment.
