Turbo OutRun

A DOS game was developed by SEGA Enterprises Ltd. and then released by SEGA-AM2 Co., LTD. in 1990, the game was called Turbo OutRun. Now you can relive the memories by playing it online here.

Turbo OutRun description

A racing game which is a continuation of OutRun, which still can not be called an arcade, although it is slightly left from this direction.

The gameplay is almost identical to the first part, and generally most racing games: need for a certain (limited) time to be able to complete the track. All the tracks are, incidentally, located in the United States, a total of sixteen, with more on the game – the farther to the West; it should be noted that none of the tracks on the other are not similar. Each of them correspond to particular weather conditions (for example, sometimes rain or snow), your obstacles to avoid (e.g., barrels or liquid spills), the game also has police, but her role somehow minimized (at least there's no persecution, can specify the direction). All the cars in the game real.

The game is quite realistic for its time physics: for example, from collisions the machine can slow down, begin to spin or even move, and any collision is a waste of limited time. For the game, we are given five attempts (that is, if you were not able to pass in the allotted time, then you can try again, but attempts for the rest of the game will be only four).

After every four races you can visit the shop where car is available for different improvements (mostly related to the engine and transmission). If we passed the previous track and got a lot of money, you can remember the name of the game and justify his buying a turbo-accelerator (one way). This will give us a tangible advantage over the rivals, but you need to remember that its frequent and prolonged use leads to severe overheating, which in turn will mean that one is not very beautiful moment, the car may just stop and until the engine has cooled, then the drive will not work.

The game has "third person in the back", the graphics are very good (especially happy mentioned the variety of trails), the backgrounds are very colorful. The verdict is a rare example of a case when the continuation was not only no worse, and in many ways much better and more successful of the original. To all fans of racing games of medium difficulty, worth a look definitely.

Now, play Turbo OutRun online for free on your browser and make your boring weekend fun and full of entertainment.
