V-Wing description

V-Wing is a Finnish cave-flyer shareware descent, trying reason its name to prirodnaja to the X-, Y -, and the other Wing am from the universe of "Star Wars".

Cave-flyer is an arcade shooter with a completely free movement, but restricted to mimic the landscape of obstacles-levels. In Finland in the early and mid 1990-ies the number of fans of this entertainment rolls over, and the amount produced there games. A characteristic feature of cave-flyers is the total (and sometimes fatal) prevalence of gameplay over visuals, which often reached the point of absurdity.

Among the features of the V-Wing is the support for up to four players simultaneously. And here is laid bare the main problem: regardless of the number of players screen resolution 640х400 is divided into quarters. That is, if four players, then all of the active region, if one or, respectively, only one. Coupled with the traditionally poor graphics it is virtually puts an end to the possibility of actually play: nothing is visible and to manage a ship almost impossible.

And somehow to compensate for this mess V-Wing is absolutely nothing, because the "highlight" on which the bet was made, was actually something inedible. Yes, there are about two dozen weapons, eight battle maps, but only to get acquainted with them will be extremely difficult.

Pity, because from under the keyboards Finnish independent developers often went out very interesting projects. But it happens sometimes.
