Sword of Honour description

Little known "historical" beat-em-up, which at one time surely stood out among fans of the genre due to the amazing graphics.

The action takes place in Japan, XVI century, during the so-called "samurai wars". Prince Toranaga stole from the Prince of Uchira (a real historical house) sword relic, you're in the role of a ninja, an employee of Ucero need to fight our way to the castle the thief and return the sword.

The point of the game, as you might guess, is to move forward with a side view, to fight enemies (they are very strong, so most of the fights occur one on one), avoid traps and collect bonuses (including weapon). Weapons here quite a lot, by the way, you can fight both them and the hands and feet, and our ninja knows a lot of blows. Manage hero with the keyboard or with the mouse by clicking on the arrow buttons at the bottom of the screen (but it's much harder).

It really is impressive – so is the graphics. Backgrounds are drawn in advance and for year of release (1993) look simply amazing – so crisp and colorful drawing more almost never meet, also, the path of a ninja is long, many screens, and none of them like another. The character models are also done great. The graphics are drawn, but not cartoonish, bright enough and with the kind of "darkish", and it seems that watching old anime cartoon. Verdict – truly a beautiful arcade game, moderately difficult, which, though pleasing in the first place, "picture", but it can be interesting to all fans of the genre.
