Rise of the Triad: The HUNT Begins – Deluxe Edition description
Before the release of any game was made to produce a kind of as it is now called, game demos, which was attended by the first levels from the main. But sometimes these same demos, formerly known as shareware, offering the player the original that is not present in the final product of the mission.
One of the most outstanding shareware versions of this plan had a cult in some circles, but not particularly popular Rise of the Triad. In contrast, the same version of DOOM and Wolfenstein 3D, ROTT shareware included two who were not in the final game of the episode. The first included 8 levels and the second only 2. The HUNT Begins included 8 multiplayer COMM-BAT levels. After time's up Deluxe version, published by LaserSoft, which adds 3 new levels in second episode of single player and 3 multiplayer. The level of difficulty similar with the main game, and among the enemies you meet only soldiers and officers – the wizards and other enemies in shareware do not exist. Music and textures are the same as in the original. Later, in 1999, Apogee Software laid out in the network and levels from the Deluxe.
The plot can not be called a prequel to the events of the ROTT - see for yourself: if the events here occur in the same castle, in the main game, why they had to go out and go back in it? And in the original show us how they just got there. These levels can be described like this: "what do the other members of the group in that moment as one of them stormed the fortress in the original game" - a kind of spin-off to the main plot.
If you have not yet passed the very Rise of the Triad, I recommend to start playing with this release, it is not so complex and thoroughly prepare you for passing the above.
