Jim Henson’s Muppet Adventure No. 1: Chaos at the Carnival description
Arcade game, which is actually a collection of six different mini-games. Made based on a certain popular children's puppet show, puppets for which were made in the workshop of the great Jim Henson (in our country known for the TV series "Dinosaurs" and "Myths of Ancient Greece" that were shown in the 90-ies, doll which also came from his workshop). The plot of the game – miss piggy was kidnapped by the main villain – Dr. Grumpa, and now the remaining heroes have to save her what will have to pass several different tests. Before the start of the game you can choose one of six heroes, but in reality, this choice will have no affect.
The action takes place in a strange place, like an amusement Park. The first level is the boat trip through the "tunnel of love" where necessary to avoid collision with different dangerous objects in the water (cans and bottles to crocodiles). Second – something like a shooting range, where you have to throw tomatoes at ducks (not a target in the form of ducks, namely, in the appearing ducks). Third, a certain attraction in the outer surroundings: it is necessary to put the likeness of a single boat on a concrete pad to orbit and shoot missiles from meteors. Fourth race strange cars on circular track against two opponents where you need to avoid collisions with obstacles. Fifth, the analogue, apparently, of the room of horrors: you have to Wade through a maze filled with guard dogs. Finally, the sixth level is a boss battle, by Grumpa. The method of defeating him unusual – it must tickle (!) "to the death". The game supports multiplayer on the same computer by two players (needs to be rotated).
After the release of the DOS version of the game got a terrible rating in the gaming press, and, admittedly, they were not quite so undeserved. So, in this version is the most difficult to manage and the worst graphics – it's not even in CGA palette, but that just drawing everything in the game is, it is conditional and "minimalistic". However, a bad game in any way it is impossible – despite the appearance of "necesitate", it is really challenging and at times exciting, so the interest to present maybe not only for children but for all fans of vintage curiosities.
