Izmir description

The cult in a very narrow circles of Korean TPS - sprite, under DOS, but with a good imitation of three-dimensionality.

Full story there: from the Intro one can only guess that the aliens have invaded the Earth. But - surprise - we're finally playing for them, to be exact - for one of the robot troopers, wielding an Arsenal of weapons and able to fly (rather, it is true, soar) on a small distance from the surface and run fast. However, humans decided to give the intruders a decent response, but because the cause of destruction of mankind as a species will be very difficult and will be in the teeth is not for everyone.

Rear view; there are several "lives", but they mean only the number of attempts to restart the game after death, at the same time - from the beginning (!) level; remain, of course, impossible. The effect of the first level happens in the desert and on the ground, next will be other landscapes, including water. The health of the main character a no there, but because of the strength and number of enemies consumed very quickly, and bonuses for its replenishment in this game is not available in principle (!) - only after somewhere a pair of "zones" level will automatically restore maximum vitality. No less surprising is that ammunition for each of the many types of weapons are finite - and they need to have time to collect (given that pace is extremely problematic), and for each of them (likely) they are different. Most of the weapons are extremely similar, is a sort of blasters and differs only in destructive power and blast radius, but there are really unique things: for example, bombs or great rate of fire and accuracy "machine", firing bursts of purple clots.

The robot moves automatically, but can be slowed down (arrow key "back") and left in a stationary state in this game leads to almost instant death. If you press the up arrow it takes off and moves through the air, and in this state is not slowing down, and by pressing the down falls to the ground. Enemies are tanks, armored vehicles, planes, flying saucers, very dangerous stationary turrets, and so on, and not destroyed with one shot, but the "rod" at us from the depths of the screen and are not inclined to pursue. The main danger is escaping from the earth, pillars of fire (sometimes so high that they cannot fly) that kills almost instantly; by the way, physical confrontation with any opponent also takes a decent amount of health. Each level ends with a boss where the key is being able to evade his attacks. Of course, this sounds much easier than it happens in reality...

Graphics, as mentioned, sprite, palette - VGA, the backgrounds of the levels are extremely poor in terms of objects, but the robot enemies are drawn quite clearly, some diversity is still present; however, all of this is through three seconds after the start of the game cease to notice so fast paced here and so monstrous danger: the slightest distraction and it was the end. In other words, is a worthy response to Western Space Harrier and the game is for the real hardcore - if you like to consider, then Izmir will be for you a true gift.
