Heimdall 2: Into the Hall of Worlds description

The second part of the novels Heimdall on the adventures of Heimdall, God of the Scandinavian Pantheon.

Plot the game is a direct continuation of the first part, and here, as there, there are a lot of errors. In short: after Heimdall returned the stolen Loki weapons of the gods and prevent Ragnarok (twilight of the Gods) in the first game, Loki is quite embittered, again, stole a bunch of valuables, and ran off to people. The father of the gods Odin sent his son Balder to defeat Loki, but the God of evil killed him. Now the mission entrusted to Heimdall – he must not only defeat the apostate, but also to collect the scattered world of man with the divine artifacts Ro Gelds (different sources of magic), amulets and talismans, and it will help the Valkyrie by the name of Ursha. All this, of course, from the point of view mythology is a lie (for example, Baldr was not a warrior but a God of spring, he could not fight with Loki, that he killed him out of revenge). But the ambiguity we have become accustomed.

Control you can switch between the two heroes (Heimdall and Valkyrie), they both have different abilities that are important for passing. Sorry, we can in a particular time to see only the chosen hero.

The game became a lot more RPG elements (more about them below), but the core gameplay still remains the arcade: go around the world fighting different types of enemies and collect bonuses (in this case the largest part of those magical items). Present as battles and simple puzzles; it is noteworthy that the fighting has significantly increased the role of magic.

The role also includes the following. First, the characters appeared statistics skills that can be improved during the passage (and in the case of magic it's pretty simple – nothing prevents you to use those magic items that you collect). Secondly, the game has a kind of quest (not just "puzzles", which is also, of course, did not disappear), namely quests, for which performance would be some kind of reward. For example, at the beginning of the adventure the heroes will need to reconcile the two men of the village, hostile to each other due to the machinations of treacherous Loki.

The graphics of the game have changed, though not dramatically, but very substantial. The prospect review is still isometric, but now we will have almost full 3D detailed backgrounds (more detailed than the first part!) and amazing big sprite character models. To play this game is a pleasure, the schedule here is an important part of the atmosphere.

The verdict is still superb, though not at all like the first part. Even though it is not unique, but rare (and therefore only the more remarkable) example of a series where the subsequent the game has no "spirit" part of the previous, but each has its own very special and unique charm. Heimdall 2 is much harder and is much bigger than the first part, moreover, is much more serious and darker, jokes and mini-games there anymore. But the game still interesting, but many mistakes in terms of differences with mythological subjects it is possible to forgive. Therefore, as the beginning of the adventure the hero of the North, is recommended for all without exception.
