Fantasy General description

The next game in the famous series of "generals" from SSI, but no relation to the events of the Second world war, and the history of our world has not. In the once lush and fragrant world Aer got an urgent necessity to clean the surface from the yoke of the "Dark Lord", and you can choose one of the characters (read generals), each of which has its own specific advantages and different set of creatures in the armies.

Being, in General, are analogous to the same with tanks, infantry and artillery of the traditional wargames for fantasy mood, although not without innovation. For example, there was this kind of "art" as magicians, in addition to a simple remote attack, they are able to cast different spells on enemy soldiers (by the way, the same features and have the player and the General of the enemy). Subordinates are divided into three categories: mortal, magical and mechanical, each of which have units of all types.First the weakest, but the cheapest and do not have critical vulnerabilities, a magical creation constructed and have bonuses against each other, but stronger than mere mortals. New means of destruction are somewhat different from the original games by: after every transaction (successfully carried out, of course), the General paid a certain amount I can determine how to purchase units and to invest in the development of monsterstate. Although this is not the only way to increase the number of troops: during the game, the army can join third-party volunteers as a bonus for capturing a city, or even "heroes" - the unique units that will remain in your submission permanently.

Also, unlike Panzer General, etc., on the battlefields, again, after the capture of the city, you can find artifacts, i.e. objects that improve performance of your "gangs"; these can be new spells, and things that directly affect your attack powerprotection.

Gaming system pretty much has changed: in Panzer General each unit had 14 parameters, while in Fantasy G. only half of that number with corresponding changes in tactics and strategy, it is not necessary particularly to understand the essence of what is happening, in order to succeed. Although the backbone of course remains the same – under the command of the player are the main (core) units, which gain experience in battles and moving from one campaign to another, and auxiliary, who are fighting on a temporary basis. Each campaign is a global map where the final destination is the stronghold of the enemy, and to reach it - you need to participate in local conflicts, each time choosing one of the two. But the cards surprisingly formulaic and the same, and the sense of a small nonlinearity is slipping to no. And the rest of the game is identical to the other "generals", and basic information can be gleaned from related to them.

Total: strongly simplified wargame with the smell (the icon with the image of units to another is not pulled) Heroes Of Might and Magic.
