Desert Raider description
Another Spanish rarity from Ediciones Manali, and another game first and foremost for its rarity.
Unlike most analogues, there is a formal story: no one "captain of infantry" to cross by jeep to the Sahara desert, fighting this from the "enemy armadas". To any particular military conflict, the game is not tied, but we can dream that we have before us a Frenchman of the "desert Troops" Leclerc, the Englishman of the Long Range Desert Group, and the soldiers of the Spanish colonial army somewhere in Rio de Oro or Sagiet El-Hamra. What is even more difficult to understand - where in the Sahara come from cacti. Tea, not Sonora this and Sugar... But it does not matter, of course.
The third-person rear; jeep moves forward automatically, we can only slightly "redirect" it to the left or right. Task - to avoid obstacles and shoot enemies, which are represented by (seemingly) only of the air force (helicopters, airplanes), and which explode from one hit, and indeed are on the screen at most a few seconds. Some of them are not really aggressive, but others drop bombs that instantly destroy a jeep in contact with him - such munitions need to have time to shoot in the air or Dodge them. Almost more dangerous than the enemy force, are parts of the landscape: large stones or the already mentioned mysterious cacti confrontation with them leads to certain death. Along the way you can collect some purple bonuses similar to the cans of fuel, but the last reason (I think) and so does not decrease. The game is divided into several almost similar to each other levels to complete the level necessary to reach the semblance of a deserted gas station.
Graphics - CGA only (as always in games EM), pretty good quality, though unassuming looking. The complexity of the process can be assessed as average. Overall - nothing special, of course, but is a rarity.
