One of the "Pleiades" is completely text sports management simulation series "Challenge", devoted, as you might guess from the name, basketball.

The game is entirely based on text and numeric messages – even players represented on the screen in the form of figures that move on the screen along with a running line of comments about what's happening in the match. Since the game management, you can act only as a coach, and all actions can be performed only before or after the match. The main attention should be paid to training, but no less – and the right formation of team for a particular match, it is necessary to study the characteristics of your players and their changes, to compare the strength of your team and the team's future opponents.

There are three levels of difficulty, but even on the easy to play hard, as the AI is quite strong. But any championship mode or "coaching career" no – you can only play private matches. Overall, a good text-based sports simulator, but like any such game, very much an Amateur.
