4-mok description

In some Board games played by millions, others only thousands or hundreds. One is devoted to thematic articles and entire books, and others are confined to a set of rules. Occasionally the origins of this separation lie in the blatant historical injustice, but often the reason is that less common and popular table games simply do not carry a tenth of that depth and diversity, which have chess or go. Such fun-the outsiders include “Four in a row” (aka “Quad”), a computer equivalent which decided to create a Family Production.

The conceptual “Four in a row” can be described as TIC-TAC-toe, adjusted for gravity. All the action takes place on a special playing field, which is a vertically mounted Board with a set of through cells across the surface and a slit at the top. Two players alternately drop chips of your color through the gap inside the Board, filling the free slots and trying to build a continuous line of four tokens. As in TIC-TAC-toe, the winner is the one who is first able to close chetyrehosnuju vertical, horizontal or diagonal.

4-mok base rules carried over unchanged, but not without a couple of innovations makes the game dynamics and the involvement in the process. First, the time for tactical planning is now strictly limited. If you can't send the token in the slot for 10 seconds, then your move will have to miss, but in this game it's almost a guaranteed defeat. Second, in some slots of the playing field before the session generated bonuses that you can collect and fill in the corresponding cell of the chip of the same color. The basic process for these prizes in no way affected, but are taken into account in determining the winner, if none of the opponents failed to line up four tokens in a row (by the way, this is the most common outcome of the game).

To turn up the game brightness, the Koreans have designed it in the form of a confrontation between a humanoid dog (for some reason green) and anthropomorphic cats. These characters are lively, though rather monotonous, react to the behavior of players: worried, happy, scared. Unfortunately, 4-mok is only one game mode in the format of the hot seat, so to prove their superiority over silicon intelligence you will not succeed at all desire.

4-mok clearly shows that by using a pair of point additions to the original rules it is possible to double the replay value is not very diverse Board fun. And even in this form the game is infinitely far from Xiangqi, it is far more likely to be able to interest two neighbors on the keyboard than its original version.
