The Wizard’s Castle description
Interesting representative of the ancient CRPG.
The main character is one of the many who decides to go in search of "spheres of power" in an underground castle of the gnome-wizard of Zot. In the beginning of the game you are offered to choose one of four races (elf, dwarf, human, hobbit) and gender of your character. The choice affects initial characteristics (strength, wisdom, and dexterity) and the number of points that you can distribute at will. After buying the equipment the character is filled with hungry monsters and disturbing sounds of the dungeon. First and foremost, this is facilitated by descriptions of the surrounding world: the player hears the sound of footsteps, noises, "see" flying over the head of bats and even "feel" smells. In the castle you can find a variety of things, such as books, potions, weapons and food. Some can sell and some to use. But no need to hurry with the latter. The well water is not always life-giving, and reading books can pick a character and lead to unexpected consequences. However, there are things completely innocuous that just make the game world richer and more diverse (e.g., crystal ball predictor or a volume of poems of the ZDR).
Fighting in the game is turn-based, with weapons and magic and the calculation of damages based on the characteristics of the characters. Though the battles have the unassuming appearance, annoying they do not have time because they are quite dynamic. Besides careful hero can and does avoid them, if will light your path and a lamp to notice lurking in the dark monster.
Management from the command line is mastered quickly because of the small number of commands (help screen available by clicking H
