Street Fighting Man description
Very rare game related to the genre (or subgenre?) "beat-em-up". The main character – a big guy named Nick, which the bandits stole his girl Juanita, and now he has to save her, which would have to go through five large levels, each of which corresponds to one of the major American cities (Denver, Atlanta, Detroit, Los Angeles, new York), and beat (to beat to death) a great many bandits in abundance living in their street.
The gameplay, like the story, not enough special stars in the sky, but still something of note here. For example, unlike most other similar games, the prospect of a review in Street Fighting Man – isometric. Will have to fight mostly with hands and feet, but sometimes you can find on the earth any useful bonus in the form of a chain, knife, crowbar, stick, or something like that and some time to beat the enemies found the subject (though, paradoxically, the arms and legs is a much more reliable).
Also curious that not all bandits are relevant to the kidnapping of the girlfriend of the hero - here just shows the world of street crime in all its glory; in every city – lots of "zones" that belong to different gangs (the farther the game progressed, the such "zones" becomes larger). The members of the same gang around the same weapons and fighting style, but in different gangs, they may differ dramatically. When entering the territory of a particular gang always reported, in whose possession you entered, and briefly explains what constitutes the local inhabitants. And it is very happy.
You save Xianna! And while the two of you are kissing that guy in the lower corner will walk right up and KO Nick with one hit. Then you have to go save Xianna again.
Graphically, the game looks very good – primarily because the characters are drawn unusually large. You can, of course, to find fault with the fact that the backgrounds are not particularly diverse, not all are drawn clearly, and the movement lacks smoothness, but, in my opinion, it's completely unnecessary. The game, of course, does not claim the laurels of the most beautiful, even for its time, but still looks quite decent and highly amusing.
Because the main thing here isn't graphics, and it is sometimes truly frantic dynamics and non-stop action, because the enemies here very much, and forces and skills they do not occupy. Verdict – a great (and very sorry that the little-known!) "combat" arcade game fully in the spirit of low-budget films of the late ' 80s, which will surely appeal to all fans of beat-em-UPS.
