In 1997 Simply Silly Software released Duke: Nuclear Winter, a very interesting DLC / Add-on game. Play it online by clicking here.

Duke: Nuclear Winter description

Christmas add-on for Duke Nukem 3D.

Duke was already preparing to celebrate Christmas, but suddenly received a telegram: the remnants of the aliens and joined them elves-feminists kidnapped Santa Claus, brainwashed him and now I want to use it in their villainous plans for world domination. Well, the characters are no days off and the working day is not normalized, because the protagonist will keep the way to the North pole.

To resist the Duke will be as familiar aliens and raging elves – small, nimble, but very weak. On the side of the elves will also make snowmen – stationary and bullet snowballs floating in the air and trying to freeze, as well as in tanks similar to those at Svinolupov from the original game. As the boss will perform on the Santa bot, armed with a rocket launcher and a machine gun – he is an unexpectedly strong opponent, and the battle with him is much harder in comparison with the rest of the episode, although too much trouble it did not deliver.

Where will visit the main character? The first two cards represent the first two levels of the original; their architecture is only slightly modified (even some of the secrets are in the same places), and will have to move in the opposite direction. Over the next five the player would have to sneak into the lair through Santa headquarters and the village of the elves, but there's almost nothing remarkable. All these levels are very short and quite linear, getting lost in them unlikely. The secret level is not provided at all.

The pros is it possible to record the atmosphere of Christmas: Duke are surrounded by festive Christmas trees; aliens who are adorned with horns, who with a garland, and who was wearing a red coat; the elves after the death often leave our hero gifts – they can contain armor, first-aid kit or ammunition. The whole last journey is accompanied by a well-known Christmas songs.

The Supplement does not carry something radically new, but it can help to pass the evening – even longer there is nothing to do.
