Beyond Columns

A DOS game was developed by Brad P. Taylor, LLC and then released by Brad P. Taylor, LLC in 1989, the game was called Beyond Columns. Now you can relive the memories by playing it online here.

Beyond Columns description

One of the earliest incarnations on the Dell computers of the popular puzzle game of falling blocks Columns. The gameplay is related to Tetris, however, borrows only two basic elements: the "glass" and blocks. And the figure is always the same: it is a vertical column of three elements, differing in color. During the fall you can change the order of colored sectors, but not the orientation of the figure itself. In order to win, you need as long as possible to prevent overflow of "glass", and this can be achieved by destroying the blocks, lining up the three pieces of the same color three in a row horizontally, vertically or diagonally, for which will earn points. The concept is simple and straightforward, that is able to challenge the abilities of the player and not get bored.

Beyond the Columns available in a choice of five difficulty levels, which vary the speed of the falling shapes. Assessing your skills and choosing, you can try to get into the presence in the game high score table and, failing to do so, marvel at the fact that it's even possible to collect a number of points and try again.

In General, this is the most classic Columns, without any attempt to come up with something new, but keep all the advantages (namely, the calling abilities of the player) of the original.
