Armada description
Marine historical vargeym dedicated to a major event at sea in the history of the Late middle Ages – the battle of the Spanish Armada with the English fleet during the Anglo-Spanish war of 1587-1604 years.
As you know, this battle was very long and included many separate battles. The game starts on the 31st of July 1588, when the Spanish ships came to the Plymouth. You can lead any of the parties to the conflict and fulfill the role or Lord Howard, or Duke of Alonso Perez de Guzman. Just note that it is possible to play together on one computer, you can also start the program "automatic" combat, when the computer controls both of the fighting parties.
initially out of sight. The yellow compass shows wind direction arrow and strength at the bottom. This battle is computer vs computer
The game is three-dimensional. Of course, this is "old", "fake" (note the quotation marks) 3D, but for a war-game such graphics – still a rarity. The game has the ability to give tens of orders (the interface here is, to put it mildly, very broad and difficult to study), and there is a direct link between the commanders of fleets and these orders (individual vehicle can not be controlled): first, choose a captain, then the order that you want to give him.
Realism can sometimes play a very dirty trick: you can report that your order was not carried out due to other circumstances. Knowing the history will remember, due to some circumstances the British won, and that will be reflected in the game: despite the enormous formal superiority of the Spanish fleet in force to play for them is not easier than English.
If most wargames have "modern" players ' two main claims – the controls and graphics, then this can only be one first mentioned. Because, as already mentioned, the graphics for the genre here is simply wonderful. Three-dimensional beach with neat buildings, beautifully rendered ships, the possibility of a relatively free overview of the field of battle are all present. But to manage our "Armada" is objectively difficult – probably immediately in the game can understand only real naval... However, all those who love old war games, to assess I strongly recommend – naval wargame of this scale never issued.
Enjoy playing Armada online, it can be played on your browser and is free.
